Pastor's Profile

Reverend Dr. Hugh Davis Jr. was born in Cairo, IL, and has spent most of his life in Milwaukee, WI. He attended Twentieth Street School, (Phyllis Wheatley), Robert Fulton Jr. High, and graduated from North Division High School. Dr. Davis was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam era where he earned the rank of Specialist Fifth Class (E-5). In the Army, Dr. Davis was a tank driver and a member of the Honor Guard where he was regularly on assignments to attend the funerals of fallen soldiers.

While in the service Dr. Davis married his beautiful wife, Carolyn Suggs, who was, at that time, attending the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. They had known each other practically all of their lives being members of the same Church, Mt. Carmel Baptist; this union was blessed with two beautiful children Tammy Williams and Hugh Davis III., seven grandchildren and two great grand children, the Lord has truly blessed.

Dr. Davis felt the calling of God upon his heart in the mid 1970's, and begin an intense study of the Word of God. It was an insatiable appetite that ultimately led to him being called by the Holy Spirit to preach the gospel.

Being a Vietnam era veteran Dr. Davis took full advantage of his G.I. Benefits. Vietnam era Veterans College Tuition and living expenses were fully paid for by the government for up to ten years.
